"Halloween home decor": a glowing in the dark spooky frame!

Hello crafty friends!
Today I'm excited to share this fun Halloween frame onto the Lawn Fawn blog, be scared people, be very scared.. ! ihih!!

Every now and then, for the Holidays, I like to stretch my supplies and create something different.. a piece of home decor to display for the season!

Well.. it was time to create a new Halloween frame and the new House die and the Halloween add on were perfect.

First of all I bought a black frame at Ikea and I created a background panelfor my house. As I trimmed my white cardstock to size I colored it with Distress inks. I used -from the bottom to the top- Spiced Marmalade Oxide, Picket Raspberry, Dusty Concord, Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire. I don't have the Black Shoot but I think it would be so perfect to darken the scene up even more. I let it dry completely and then I added some sparkle watercolor  + white and black splatters.

I'm usually drawn to pastels and soft colors but it was so much fun going bold and beautiful here!

Then I started building my house. I die cut all the pieces I needed from all these sets: Build-a-house, Build-a-house Halloween Add-on and Scalloped Treat Box Beach House Add-on.

You can also find some of them in the Raibow Pack, it's great to try them out and fall in love with them! eheh!!

I shaded every little piece with Distress inks to add dimension and animate my spooky house.
These are the Distress ink colors I used: Iced Spruse on the actual house, Walnut Stain on the sand, Peeled Paint on the grass and Spiced Marmalade Oxide for the windows.

You may notice my house is taller than the standard one you can die cut.. I just thought the more floors = the more fun!
I used the partial die cutting technique to add my other floor or more easily you can just die cut the house twice and stack them up. You could actually build more and more floors as you wish, maybe re-creating your condominium if you happen to live in one- that would be so much fun!!

Back to the project.. I heat embossed a piece of white cardstock with the Glow in the dark embossing power and I die cut all the little ghost + the moon and the little stars from it. Then I glued them down to my house and background. I forgot to mention but I glued down my house with foam tape, as well as the little bats.
Now are you ready for the spooky effect?! ...

Awww it's soooo super adorable and fun!!
